Killer Shoots Himself After Crash On Interstate
"PEMBROKE PINES, FL — A police chase with a homicide suspect on Interstate 95 ended in suicide Thursday afternoon.
"At about 1:45 p.m. a Boynton Beach police officer spotted a vehicle believed to have belonged to the boyfriend of a 25-year-old woman named Anuska Dillon, who was found shot to death in her Pembroke Pines home early Thursday morning.
"Officers tried to pull the Nissan Maxima over in the southbound lanes near the Gateway Boulevard exit in Boynton Beach.
"The driver, later identified as 26-year-old Clifson Cerve, wouldn't pull over and led officers on a chase southbound until he crashed just south of the Congress Avenue exit in Boca Raton.
"At that point, officers ordered Cerve out of the vehicle, but he shot himself in the head. He was rushed to Delray Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
"Miami television station WPLG reported that Cerve and Dillon had just moved in together on Sunday and that she was five months pregnant. In fact, Dillon was going to find out the gender of the baby on Thursday.
"WPLG also reported Dillon's 6-year-old child from a previous relationship was at the home at the time of the shooting but was not injured.
"The ordeal caused serious traffic problems on I-95 south Thursday afternoon."
