"Bartlett, TN - Bartlett police this morning identified the woman killed in an apparent murder-suicide attempt as Patricia Linscome.

"Meanwhile, her husband, Jan Linscome, 74, remained hospitalized in critical condition, from what police described as a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Authorities believe the husband shot his 73-year-old wife before shooting himself.

"The couple was found by their son, Keith Linscome, 44, when he returned to their home at 6841 Tree Breeze Cove about 7:45 p.m. Wednesday.

"According to police reports, Keith Linscome, who lived with the couple, left the house about 6 p.m. and went to the gym and grocery store. When he returned, he found a note written by his father on the counter and immediately went to his parents’ bedroom.

"Officers found a .38-caliber revolver in the husband’s hand. He and his wife were in the bed with gunshot wounds to the head.

"Patricia Linscome was pronounced dead at the scene."
