SC: Shooting/Standoff Leaves 2 Dead

"A shooting and standoff has ended with two people dead and deputies say a baby was nearby when it all happened. Greenwood County Sheriff’s Deputies got a call just after midnight on Tuesday about shots being fired inside the ‘Pine Tree Apartments’ located just off the 72 bypass.

"Officers say they saw what looked like a dead woman lying in the doorway and evacuated the apartments. Witnesses say the suspected gunman man had fired several shots and was still inside the apartment possibly with a baby.

"When officers lost contact with the man, they used a special grenade to make entry around two o’ clock Tuesday morning. Inside they found the two dead and the 7-month old unharmed. Deputies say they’re investigating this as a murder- suicide."
