Possible murder-suicide in Geauga County
"Chesterland police are investigating a homicide, which officials say may be connected to a fatal — and potentially suicidal — crash that happened later in the morning a few miles south in Bainbridge Township.
"A 32-year-old Chesterland woman was stabbed to death, authorities said. A little while later, her 33-year-old boyfriend, who lived on Kinsman Road in Novelty, crashed into a tractor-trailer.
"The boyfriend, driving a pickup truck, died in the 9 a.m. crash on Ohio 306 near the Lake Lucerne community. The speeding, southbound pickup truck slammed into a northbound tractor-trailer, police said. There were no skid marks to show the pickup driver tried to stop. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.
"Geauga County law enforcement officials said the driver may be linked to the murder that took place in Chesterland, where officials confirmed they are investigating a homicide but could not release specifics."
