2nd Kidnapping Ends In Murder/Suicide
"MCCONNELLSBURG, PA — A McConnellsburg man jailed for allegedly kidnapping and terrorizing a woman on Friday went back to her Ayr Township home after posting bail Sunday, kidnapped her a second time, then killed her and took his own life.
"The deaths of Ricky L. Hann, 51, and Tina Souders, 39, both of McConnellsburg, are being billed as a homicide-suicide by Pennsylvania State Police.
"Trooper David McGarvey said Souders contacted police on Saturday, telling them Hann had kidnapped her and held her captive for about 24 hours, apparently Friday and into early Saturday.
"She told police that he had come to her residence and asked her to go for a ride. When she refused, he allegedly took out a shotgun and threatened her life, then held her captive in her home for about 24 hours.
"She told police she finally convinced him to let her go, and she went to police.
"Hann was taken into custody by troopers at about 2 p.m. Saturday and charged with kidnapping, burglary, making terroristic threats, unlawful restraint, endangering another person and simple assault.
"He was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Carol Jean Johnson, who set his bail at $100,000. He was placed in Franklin County Jail when he couldn't post the bail immediately.
"On Sunday, he posted bail and was back at Souders home by 10:55 a.m.
"He kidnapped her a second time, took her into a wooded area on Cito Road in Ayr Township and shot her before taking his own life."
