Bodies Found At Motel 6

"ST LOUIS, MO — A shocking discovery at a Motel 6 in South St. Louis County as a man and woman are found dead in a room, the victims of an apparent murder-suicide.

"Detectives with the St. Louis County Police Department believe the victims are a husband and wife from the City of St. Louis. Authorities are not looking for a suspect.

"The room was supposed to be vacant; it was post checkout time and the room was locked from the inside. An employee managed to peek through an opening, saw the bodies of the couple who had been staying there, and called county police.

"Authorities responded to the motel, located at 6500 South Lindbergh Boulevard, around 12:15 p.m. Police had to force their way in, where they found the 47-year-old man and 30-year-old woman. Both had been shot inside the room, giving the appearance of a murder-suicide.

"Motel 6 records show the couple had been staying here for days. They were dropped off days ago, scheduled to be picked up after checkout Monday.

"Police are attempting to notify family."
