Daughter Shoots Mom, Self
"WELDON, CA — A mother and her adult daughter died Saturday in a murder-suicide, according to the Kern County coroner's office.
"Nani Sue Brothers, 50, and Roxane Sheree Holdcroft, 29, were identified in a coroner's office news release Tuesday as the women killed. Holdcroft shot her mother and then turned the gun on herself.
"Their bodies were found in the 9700 block of Glacier Gulch in Weldon. Sheriff's spokesman Ray Pruitt said both women had apparently been suffering from long-term health issues.
"An autopsy determined Brothers suffered a gunshot wound to the head and neck and her death was a homicide, the news release said. Holdcroft suffered a gunshot wound to the head and the manner of death was suicide.
"The mother's boyfriend had found the women a short distance from their residence, according to a Sheriff's Department news release."

I read about this one over the weekend and it was being called a "double suicide" since both women had health problems. So I let it slide until there was more info. Sure enough, the autopsy confirmed what I suspected.
