Police Investigate Murder/Suicide

"WEST MONROE, LA — West Monroe police are investigating a reported murder and suicide in the 200 block of South Second Street. This is their second reported murder in as many weeks and in the same area.

"`We’re working on it,` Maj. Chris Sasser said. `It’s still early in the investigation.` Sasser said, however, that police were treating the incident as a murder-suicide.

"Two victims were found fatally shot. Sasser said the victims, reported to be in their 20s, would not be identified until their families are notified."
