Deputies Peek Through Window To Find Bodies

"LINWOOD TWP, MN — A couple was found dead a Linwood home early this morning in an apparent homicide-suicide, according to the Anoka County sheriff's office.

"Authorities responded to the 23900 block of Nebula Street just before 8 a.m. after an employer called about one of his or her employees not showing up for work, said Det. Paul Lenzmeier, spokesperson for the sheriff's office.

"Deputies arrived to find the house locked and nothing seemingly amiss. After learning the couple had a past history of domestic problems, one of the deputies climbed up a ladder to peer in the upstairs window. Inside he saw the man and woman, both 51 and from Linwood Township, lying in bed with what appeared to be gunshot wounds, Lenzmeier said. Deputies later determined the pair was dead. A 38-mm handgun was found at the scene.

"The names of the individuals are being withheld pending notification of family and official determination of the cause of death by the Anoka County Medical Examiner.

"It was not immediately known whether drugs or alcohol may have been involved. The investigation is ongoing."
