Report Of Car Crash Leads Cops To Murder/Suicide

"HILLSBORO, WI — Authorities suspect a man shot and killed a woman then committed suicide Tuesday afternoon, Vernon County Chief Deputy Sheriff Nathan Campbell said.

"Authorities were first called to East Madison Street about 5:15 p.m. on a report of a car crash. Shots were then fired.

"The man and woman were dead when police arrived, said Campbell, who was leading the investigation at the scene with Hillsboro Police Chief Tom Richardson.

"Vernon County Sheriff John Spears said the shootings were an isolated incident and `there are no further public safety concerns.`

"Authorities gave no other details.

"Officers were still on the scene as of 10 p.m.

"Authorities are withholding the names of the man and woman until next of kin is notified, probably today, Campbell said."

  1. Funny how those restraining orders never work, but then again you never hear about the ones that do.

These crash'n'kill incidents seem to be gaining popularity.
