Two Dead After Argument Leads To Gunfire
"PHOENIX, AZ — Two people are dead after an apparent murder-suicide at a Phoenix home Sunday night.
"Investigators are still trying to piece together what happened late Sunday night at the home in the neighborhood of 31st and Southern avenues in South Phoenix.
"What they do know is that the victim, along with two of her children, two friends and a child of one of those friends, arrived at her home shortly before 8:30 p.m. The womans boyfriend was already home when the group got there.
"The 29-year-old woman went into a back bedroom where the boyfriend apparently was waiting. The two were heard arguing. A short time later, gunfire rang out.
"The womans two friends hustled the children out of the house.
"According to Sgt. Tommy Thompson, the 29-year-old man went outside briefly and said he was going to kill himself. One last gunshot was heard moments after he went back inside.
"When police arrived on the scene, they went into the house to try and save the badly wounded woman. She was rushed to a local hospital, but later died of her injuries.
Officers swept the house and discovered the man dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
"Investigators have not released the names of the victim or the suspect, nor do they know what the couple was arguing about."
