Seven Dead In Xmas Multiple Murder/Suicide

"GRAPEVINE, TX — The bodies of seven people police believe to be related were found apparently shot to death in a Dallas-area apartment on Christmas Day.

"The four women and three men were all found in an adjoining kitchen and living room area when police entered the Dallas-area apartment shortly after 11:30am.

"Police said two handguns were found inside the apartment and it is believed the shooter is among the dead.

"Grapevine Police Sergeant Robert Eberling said officers were responding to a 911 call in the 2500 block of Hall-Johnson Road when they discovered the bodies.

"`There was an open line. No one was saying anything,` he explained, so police entered the apartment.

"Officers [said] that it appeared one person shot and killed six people inside the apartment before committing suicide at the Lincoln Vineyards Apartment Homes, a 220-unit complex.

"According to [local news reports], the victims appear to be adults from three generations of the same family, ranging in age from late teens to sixties.

"Their names have not been released.

"Eberling said in a statement today: `It appears to be they're all related. It appears all the victims are deceased from gunshot wounds.

"`We are pretty confident that the shooter is among the deceased victims inside the apartment,` he added. `We are not actively looking for a shooter that we believe is at large.`

"It remains unclear whether the victims were celebrating Christmas when the shooting began.

"There had been no previous police calls to the apartment."
