"PORTSMOUTH, VA — Police investigating a double shooting in Portsmouth Wednesday morning say it stemmed from a domestic situation."Officers responded to the area of 5 Canoe Court around 5:30 a.m. after receiving several calls about gunshots.
"They found 41-year-old Loring Larry Walker, of 3600 Gateway Drive in Portsmouth, dead inside the home.
"A woman was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with gunshot wounds to her abdomen and lower body. She is in stable condition, according to Jan Westerbeck with Portsmouth Police.
"Westerbeck said detectives learned Walker entered the home and allegedly shot the woman, before shooting himself.
"The investigation is ongoing."
