Police Find Shooting Victims
"ALAMEDA, CA — A man and a woman died after a Monday evening shooting that police said was an apparent murder-suicide.
"After receiving several reports of shots fired at 6:36 p.m., police found a 30 year-old Alameda woman and a 36 year-old Oakland man with gunshot wounds at a residence in the 2100 block of Alameda Avenue near Walnut Street, police Lt. Sean Lynch said.
"Despite efforts to resuscitate her, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The man was taken to a hospital, where he died about 1:45 a.m. Tuesday, Lynch said.
"The man apparently shot the woman and then shot himself, police said.
"`We have not officially concluded the investigation, but all preliminary indications are that it was a murder-suicide,` Lynch said.
"No one else was at the residence when the shootings occurred, police said.
"The names of the man and woman are not being released until their families are notified."
