Kids Witness Murder/Suicide

"PRICHARD, AL — Prichard police are investigating a murder-suicide involving a father of two young children. What's worse, the children saw it happen.

"The couple was found dead this morning at 304 Sasser Drive in Eight Mile after the 6 and 7 year old went to a neighbor's house because they did not want to miss school.

"Police have not said who killed who, but we know both the man and his girlfriend were stabbed to death.

"Chief Jimmie Gardner says the children witnessed the murder-suicide sometime overnight, went to bed and got up this morning to go to school.

"The children are now with their mother."
