Four Dead In Triple Murder/Suicide
"DARIEN, IL — Autopsy results show a suburban Chicago man, David Andrus, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound and the three women found dead with him—his wife and two daughters—died of gunshot wounds to the face.
"Police said David Andrus' death was ruled a suicide and the three women's deaths were classified as homicides.
"DuPage County Coroner Richard Jorgensen says autopsies were conducted Wednesday afternoon on the four family members found dead Tuesday in their Darien, Ill. home.
"Autopsy results show Andrus, 50, died of a self-inflicted intra-oral gunshot wound. The coroner says 48-year-old Jeana Andrus died of a single gunshot wound to the face. The two younger women, 22-year-old Jessica Andrus and 16-year-old Jennifer Andrus, died of single close-range gunshot wounds to the face.
"According to the Chicago Tribune, all four bodies were found in the basement of the residence, and David Andrus's body was on top of one of his daughters.
"The motive behind the killings remains unknown but the paper reports that David Andrus had been fired from him job at Midtronics, a Willowbrook-based maker of battery management products. According to the paper, law enforcement officials said he was fired after the company suspected he was stealing.
"The Chicago Tribune interviewed several family members, neighbors and friends, one of whom described the victims as `The best family you could ask for.`"
