Two Guns, One Shooter Says Medical Examiner

"CHICAGOE, IL — A man and woman were found dead in a downtown hotel Friday afternoon in an apparent murder/suicide, officials said.

"About 4:20 p.m. a 56-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman were found dead together in bed at 301 E. North Water St., according to Chicago Police Department News Affairs Office Veejay Zala.

"The two were identified by the Cook County medical examiner's office Saturday as James A. Wright Jr., of Milwaukee, Wis., and Kim Wright of Oconomowoc, Wis.

"An autopsy conducted today determined that James Wright was shot in the face in a homicide and Kim Wright died after shooting herself in the face in a suicide, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

"Two handguns were found next to the bed, and police initially believed both of the wounds appeared to be self-inflicted, Zala said.

"Police initially had classified the incident as a death investigation pending autopsy results, said Zala.

"The Sheraton Chicago Hotel is located at 301 E. North Water St. A spokeswoman for the hotel was not immediately available for comment."
