Two Dead After Boyfriend Refuses To Move Out
"ALEXANDER CITY, AL — Alexander City Police now say the death investigation launched after the bodies of two people were found in a home was the result of a murder/suicide. It has taken nearly a week to identify the victims due to the fact that one of them was an undocumented immigrant.
"Alex City Police say this was the story of a relationship that went terribly bad. The girlfriend wanted her boyfriend to move out—he refused.
"Police say the incident happened at a home on Worthy Road, not far from downtown.
"A friend of one of the victims found the bodies at the couple's home after the woman failed to report to work for several days. The friend was unable to get inside the house, but after looking inside a window she saw feet sticking out from behind a bed and called police.
"Police say the female who didn't report to work, 32-year-old Windy Zarrable wanted to end the relationship with her boyfriend, 32-year-old Nerberto Torres.
"Investigators say it appears as Torres shot his girlfriend twice, then turned the 22 pistol on himself.
"It's taken nearly a week after the incident to identify Torres due to the face that he was an undocumented immigrant.
"Friends who knew the couple say both Torres and Zarrable worked in the manufacturing industry around Alexander City."
