Husband Dead, Wife Survives Attempted Murder/Suicide
"INGLESIDE, TX — A woman shot in the head by her husband last night clings to life at Spohn Memorial Hospital. Ingleside police say the woman called 911 last night to let police know her husband had threatened to kill her.
"During that phone call the dispatcher heard one gunshot before the line disconnected.
"Police headed towards the home in the 2000 block of La Quinta were told another 911 call from Corpus Christi came in from a son who said his father just admitted to a murder and was about to take his own life.
"Officers who showed up at the house were invited in by a man who refused to show his hands. They stayed outside while ordering him to drop a gun spotted as he headed further inside the home.
"Police say they heard one shot before finding the man dead inside with a bullet to the head. They also found his wife still sitting in a living room chair with a gunshot wound to the forehead.
"This morning Ingleside police said she was being treated at the intensive care unit at Christus Spohn Memorial in Corpus Christi.
"Authorities have not released the names of the man and wife."
