Couple Found Dead In Doublewide
"Bland, VA - Autopsies were being performed Thursday on a Bland County couple found dead inside their doublewide on Wednesday morning with gunshot wounds.
"State police, though, don’t believe that anyone other than the two victims were involved in the deaths.
"`The couple was in failing health, which may have contributed to events,` said Sgt. M.T. Conroy.
"According to Conroy, a relative discovered the bodies of 66-year-old James Farris and 65-year-old Helen Farris at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at 4709 South Scenic Highway outside Bland.
"Both died from apparent gunshot wounds, and a firearm was discovered in the residence, Conroy said.
"Police don’t believe the couple had been dead for an extended period of time before they were found.
"Helen Farris had worked at both Scott’s IGA and the Bland Square Citgo in Bland before her death, community sources said."
