"SHELBYVILLE, IN - On Saturday morning, Tan Tran, 41, barricaded himself and three other people inside his home in Shelbyville's Central Park subdivision, police said.

"A tactical police team rescued an unharmed 6-year-old boy and a woman who had been shot in the leg, said Shelbyville Police Lt. Mike Turner. Their names were not released. The woman was released from a hospital after treatment.

"Christine Ong, Tran's girlfriend, was found dead with a gunshot to the head in a downstairs living room of the home in the 800 block of Highpointe Boulevard, where she and Tran lived, police said.

"Upstairs, police discovered Tran with the self-inflicted wound from a handgun. He was airlifted to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, where he died Saturday afternoon, Turner said."
