Gawkers Flock To Scene Of Murder/Suicide

"YORK TOWNSHIP, OH — Detectives have left the scene of a domestic dispute which ended in a murder-suicide this afternoon.

"A steady stream of onlookers are driving up and down Township Road 302 to catch a glimpse of the home, located at 2567 Township Road 302.

"Sandusky County Sheriff Kyle Overmyer said the husband and wife both died of gunshot wounds.

"Overmyer confirmed Emmitt Weaver fatally shot his wife Betty Weaver before turning the gun on himself. Overmyer said deputies received a call around 2 p.m. from a female caller.

"`We knew from the information in the phone call the female had been shot,` Overmyer said.

"He added, deputies surrounded the perimeter of the 2567 Township Road 302 home and were on scene for 15 minutes before Emmitt Weaver turned the gun on himself."
