Killer Party Leaves Two Dead

"JOHNSTOWN, PA — Two people are dead after a shooting early Saturday in Lorain Borough that authorities believe was a homicide-suicide.

"Dwayne Dixon, 27, and David Cutlip, 24, both of Johnstown, were attending a party at a home in the 400 block of Ohio Street with a few others. An argument broke out between the two, authorities said.

"The verbal disagreement led to a scuffle in the lower level of the home. Cutlip then pulled a handgun and shot Dixon once in the head, city Detective Thomas Owens said.

"Cutlip then pulled a second handgun and shot himself once in the head, Owens said. Both guns were recovered.

"Police did not say what sparked the disagreement.

"Cambria County Coroner Dennis Kwiatkowski said Dixon was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:11 a.m.

"Cutlip was rushed to Memorial Medical Center, where he died in the intensive care unit at 8:11 a.m., the coroner said.

"Police seized a small quantity of marijuana and drug paraphernalia at the Ohio Street home, Owens said.

"Neither man lived at the home, police said.

"Court records show Dixon had a history of drug arrests.

"The investigation is continuing."

  1. Rest in Peace David, you were a great friend, and an amazing tattoo artist, you gave me great advice and I can only hope to be as good as you were one day. No one will ever forget you, and we will be with you soon, hang in there.

  2. I am challenging the local P.D. to release further details in the 'ongoing investigation' because this was NOT a homicide-suicide!! It is HIGHLY unlikely that two individuals of the same gender would commit an act of homicide-suicide, unless they are emotionally linked in some binding relationship! These two individuals did NOT even know each other!!
What are the lab results of the weapons? ie DAN, finger prints, ballistics?
Release further investigative information in this case. Don't assume that because nearly 3 mo have passed since the tragic incident, that the 'people' aren't still waiting the conclusive results in this investigation!!!

  3. I completely agree. We haven't heard anything about the pd REALLY looking into this! It makes no sense. Why on earth would he shoot himself with a second gun?? How could there not be a full investigation about this? And the Johnstown tribune democrat and pd are not professional at all. They jump to conclusions all the time, like in this case. Murder/suicide? Not without more evidence. It just doesn't make sense.

Dave wouldnt hurt a fly and he had way to much going for him to kill himself. and if you were going to kill yourself why would you pick behind the ear to shoot yourself?? there is more to this story then is being told but does anyone really expect more from the johnstown pd?? rest in peace dave and dwayne both of you are missed everyday
