Dead Couple Had "Mental Health Issues"
"PORTLAND, OR — A man and a woman found dead Friday afternoon inside a downtown Portland motel were a murder-suicide, according to a Portland police investigation.
"Police found the body of Adam Ury, 32, in the bathroom and that of Diane Gabrielle Bailey, 47, on the bed. Each died of a single gunshot wound, according to the Portland Police Bureau.
"Motel staff at the Econolodge, 1889 S.W. Fourth Ave., initially reported the bodies at about 2:30 p.m. Friday after entering Room 110, police said. No one else was in the room.
"Homicide detectives and a forensics team began an investigation at the scene while police blocked off Southwest Hall Street.
"The Medical Examiner’s Office completed autopsies Saturday.
"Investigators said that the two suffered from mental health issues and had planned to commit suicide together. Ury shot the woman on the bed and then shot himself in the bathroom."
