Protective Order Didn't Stop Killer

"SUFFOLK, VA — Police are investigating a late-night domestic homicide and apparent suicide.

"It happened Tuesday evening on 115 Grove Avenue in Oak Ridge.

"Around 11 p.m., dispatch received several calls, including one from Deborah Marlo Wigg, who said her estranged husband Robert was repeatedly ringing the doorbell. She also said that she had a protective order against him.

"According to City spokesperson Diana Klink, Mr. Wigg forced his way into the home and then the phone disconnected.

"Klink said neighbors also alerted police and the victim's parents about the situation.

"Police arrived and found Wigg, 39, dead from a gunshot. Her two children, ages 4 and 10, were also inside the home but unhurt.

"Authorities say Mr. Wigg ,43, drove to his in-law's house less than a half-mile away and apparently shot himself.

"The two children are staying with relatives."
