Elderly Couple Found Dead Of Gunshot Wounds

"QUITMAN, TX — Authorities have released the names of the elderly man and woman in an apparent murder/suicide in Wood County.

"Mary and Thomas Williams, both 85, were found in their home Tuesday morning, both dead from apparent gunshot wounds.

"Around 11 a.m., Tuesday, the Wood County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call in regards to two persons being found deceased in a home at 1020 N. Highway 37 in Quitman.

"A family member advised that they had arrived at the home after being requested to do so by the owner.

"Investigators say the case has been determined to be a murder/suicide.

"No further details have been released."
