Elderly Couple Had Various Medical Issues

"GLENDALE, AZ — An elderly couple are dead following an apparent murder-suicide in Glendale Monday night.

"Police responded to a home on 6358 West Caron Street for a welfare check at about 9:30 p.m.

"Officers found George and Margaret Deckard, both 86 years old, dead inside the master bedroom.

"Police spokesman Sgt. Brent Coombs said George Deckard left a handwritten note behind.

"Investigators said the details of the note are consistent with evidence found at the scene, which revealed George Deckard shot his wife and then took his own life.

"Coombs said the husband and wife were both dealing with various medical issues."
