Slasher Survives Attempted Murder/Suicide

"BROOKLYN, NY — A woman is dead and a man hospitalized after police responded to the report of an assault in Sunset Park this morning.

"Police found the unidentified 31-year-old woman in front of an apartment at 336 51st St. this morning with a stab wound to her neck. The unidentified 44-year-old man, who police say is a suspect, was found in front of one of the apartments inside, with an alleged self-inflicted stab wound to the neck. Police believe that the man was the victim's boyfriend.

"The suspect and victim were taken to Lutheran Hospital, where the victim was pronounced dead.

"The suspect has been hospitalized in critical condition."
