"COLEMAN, OK — A Texoma community is in shock after a teen and his grandmother are found dead in what investigators say appears to be a murder/suicide. It happened Monday in Johnston County, south of Coleman.

"`It was terrible. It was really terrible,` neighbor Dorothy Cross said.

"Cross says she'd just picked fresh watermelons and tomatoes from her garden to deliver to a neighbor across Highway 48 South when she stumbled upon a scene she'll never forget.

"`I could tell by the front porch, well the blood on the front porch, she was hurt but I never imagined anything like that,` Cross said.

"The OSBI now says it appears the woman at the home died from a gunshot wound to the head.

"At a mobile home next door, Johnston County deputies found Ross Whitmire, 14, dead from what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

"Family members say Whitmire shot and killed his grandmother before turning a gun on himself."
