Father & Infant Son Found Dead In Vehicle

"CHANDLER, AZ — Police are investigating the death of a 25-year-old father and his 3-month-old son in an apparent murder/suicide.

"It happened early Sunday morning near Linda Lane and North Iowa.

"Police responded to the scene after receiving a 911 call from a family member.

"That's when they discovered the father dead inside of a vehicle. The dead baby boy was on his lap.

"Investigators have learned there was a family gathering at the home which the father and infant attended.

"`We have no motive. We have no reason why this individual did this,` said detective Seth Tyler with the Chandler Police Department.

"The father's girlfriend was at the home when the murder/suicide occurred, according to Det. Tyler.

"The couple does not have any other children together."
