Bodies Found In Driveway
"YORKTOWN, VA — A Richmond man is suspected of shooting a woman in front of her home, then turning the gun on himself, deputies said.
"The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office responded to the 100 block of Runaway Lane in Yorktown in response to a call of shots fired at 2:09 p.m. today in the Edgehill subdivision.
"The deputies found two people dead in the driveway in an apparent murder-suicide, Sheriff J.D. “Danny” Diggs said. The pair, one man and one woman, are related but are not husband and wife.
"Though police are not currently aware of eyewitnesses, neighbors who had been working in their yards reported hearing the gunshots.
"The suspect, the male, is from the Richmond area. The victim lives in the home. Both bodies were found outside, feet away from the garage door, Diggs said. Nobody else was home at the time of the incident.
"The identities and ages of the suspect and victim have not yet been released. The bodies will be transported to a medical examiner in Norfolk."
