Classic Stab-and-Jump Causes Traffic Jam

"Police in Coquitlam, B.C., say the incident in which a man plunged from the balcony of his ninth-floor apartment to his death was the result of an attempted murder-suicide.

"Investigators said the man, in his 50s, stabbed his wife multiple times during a domestic dispute on Friday, then jumped from his balcony.

"His wife, also in her 50s, was in critical condition, but was expected to survive.

"Police and emergency crews were on the scene after Friday's death, blocking traffic near the intersection of Austin Avenue and North Road, not far from the Lougheed Mall."
