Teenager Makes Gruesome Discovery

"Metairie, LA - A teenager discovered the bodies of his mother and step-father Friday at the scene of what investigators say was a homicide-suicide in Metairie.

"Investigators believe the 48-year-old man shot the 47-year-old woman and then shot himself, said Col. John Fortunato, a spokesman for the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office.

"A semi-automatic handgun with two spent casings found by the bodies support the preliminary finding, he said.

"The shooting occurred about 6 p.m. in the 2500 block of Danny Park, Fortunato said. "
