Businessman & Wife Found Dead In Home

"SHREVEPORT, LA — A Shreveport businessman and his wife were found shot to death at their southwest Shreveport home Friday in what authorities said appeared to be a murder-suicide.

"Willie Guiden, who was also a part-time preacher, and his wife Jane were found dead about 10:30 a.m. at their house on 881 Elmdale Street off Kingston Road. Both had been shot.

"Authorities said there was no indication of forced entry to the house and evidence at the scene indicated Mr. Guiden shot his wife and then killed himself.

"A gun was lying near Mr. Guiden's body, which was found in the living room of the house. Mrs. Guiden was found dead in the hallway.

"The Guidens were both 60 years old.

"Guiden founded Guiden Seafood Restaurant on Line Avenue and more recently ran Unity Daycare Center on Line Avenue.

"Police patrol officers found the bodies after the couple's daughter called and said no one at the house would answer the phone or the door, Sgt. Bill Goodin said.

"Police said the house was locked and there was no indication of forced entry.

"The couple is believed to have died Thursday night."

  1. Years ago, before the Internet, I read that "The Devil" does most of his work in churches. He doesn't care about atheists, murderers, pimps, prostitutes, and sinners in general because they are all shoe-ins to Hell anyway. Why bother? The Devil's true goal is the temptation of churchgoers and the Top Prize is the preacher himself.
