Police Seize Smartphones & Chargers

"CHESTER, VA — A weekend double shooting that left one man dead and a woman critically injured inside a Chesterfield County home is being investigated as a possible attempted murder-suicide case, court documents show.

"Police received a disturbance call Sunday to check on a woman with a head wound at a home at 11200 block of Heathstead Road in Chester, according to a search warrant affidavit filed in Chesterfield Circuit Court.

"The first officer to respond made contact with the woman, who `had an obvious head wound,` the affidavit says.

"The woman was unable to speak `and indicated by pointing that someone else was upstairs in the residence.` The officer checked further and discovered a man dead in an upstairs bedroom, “along with a gun on the floor,” the affidavit says.

"The woman was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

"During a search of the home, investigators recovered a Rossi .38-caliber revolver, ammunition, two smartphones and two wall chargers, according to an inventory of items seized.

"Police have said an apparent domestic dispute led to the shootings but they have released no further details, including the victims’ names."
