Shooter In Botched Murder/Suicide Expected To Survive

"TACOMA, WA — Pierce County Sheriff's deputies found a woman murdered inside her Tacoma home Monday as well as her estranged husband with self-inflicted gunshot wounds.

"Detectives are investigating the case as a murder and attempted suicide. Deputies identified the woman, 50, as a Pierce County employee, but did not release what department she works for.

"Investigators arrived at her home, on the 2600 block of 128th Street East, Monday morning after a co-worker called 911, saying the victim did not come into work, nor did she call in sick.

"Deputies said they entered the home and found the woman dead from homicidal violence, but the man, seriously injured with life-threatening wounds, was still alive. He was transported to the hospital, and deputies said he is expected to live.

"According to investigators, the estranged husband, 47, was previously arrested for domestic violence in August 2010."
