Police Believe Shooter Called 911

"TUCSON, AZ — A husband and wife were found dead inside their east side home Wednesday morning, police said.

"Investigators believe the man shot his wife and then himself, said Sgt. Matt Ronstadt, a Tucson police spokesman.

"At about 7:15 a.m. a man called 911 reporting shots fired inside the home in the 5600 block of East Scarlett Street, near Broadway and Craycroft Road, and investigators believe the husband was the man calling 911 before shooting himself, Ronstadt said.

"Officers responded to the call and found the couple in their late 50’s dead inside their home, Ronstadt said.

"There were no signs of forced entry at the house and a gun was found inside, he said.

"Police will not release the names of the couple until their family members are notified of their death, Ronstadt said."
