Weekend Shootings Were Murder/Suicide
"WARREN, MI — The shooting deaths of an 83-year-old Warren woman and her son have been deemed a murder-suicide, police said Wednesday.
"The bodies of Anne Angello and her 50-year-old son, Robert Angello, were found Sunday afternoon in her bedroom of their home on 29536 Palomino Drive in the 12 Mile-Hoover Road area, police said.
"Detective Lt. Michael Torey said the woman’s younger son, identified as a 48-year-old Clinton Township resident, went to the home at approximately 2:15 p.m. Sunday to check on her like he did every Sunday.
"When nobody answered the door—something the son considered unusual—he used a key to enter the locked door. Moments later, he found the bodies of the two family members.
"Anne Angello, who was a widow, apparently was sleeping or resting in bed when she was shot once in the head, Torey said. Robert Angello’s body was found next to her. Investigators concluded he turned the gun on himself and took his own life after shooting his mother.
"`Everything matches to murder-suicide,` Torey [said].
"Officials believe the double-shooting occurred between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. Sunday. The motive for the incident was unknown. Police had no previous runs to the house for any domestic troubles."
