Portable Generator Used In Botched Murder/Suicide

"LAKESIDE, CA — Authorities responded to the 10300 block of New Bedford Court in Lakeside around 4:45 a.m., where they say a man emailed his sister-in-law to tell her that he was depressed, had shot his wife and was going to kill himself.

"Responding deputies found the man alive in a room with a portable generator, in what appeared to be an attempt to kill himself with carbon monoxide.

"A woman who was found in the house appeared to have been shot to death, deputies said."
