Kids Watch As Mom's Ex-Boyfriend Shoots

"FORT WORTH, TX — A 48-year-old man shot and killed two women on Monday afternoon after their children ran for cover inside of a bedroom, according to police. Detectives said that the gunman then turned the gun on himself and committed suicide.

"At about 12:25 p.m., the gunman approached 29-year-old Natasha Robertson and her 30-year-old visiting friend, Donille Howard of Wichita Falls, just outside of a townhome located in the 7600 block of Chance Boulevard in south Fort Worth. The two mothers were taking their four children to the Boys and Girls Club, police said.

"The man, who officers said was in an `on-again, off-again romantic relationship` with Robertson, shot the two women just inside of the front door.

"A witness, who asked to remain anonymous, said that Robertson’s young daughter stood over her mother as she lay bleeding on the ground. The neighbor said, `When I came outside, I just saw the little girl over her mom’s body screaming, 'Mama, Mama, keep breathing. Please keep breathing.'`

"Polce said that the gunman, identified as Darren Clemmons, then walked back to his car and shot himself.

"Robertson was still alive when emergency crews arrived, but she later died at the hospital. Howard died at the scene. The four children were not hurt.

"Neighbors and police said that Clemmons and Robertson had a history of domestic violence."
