Fatal Reconciliation

"EASLEY, SC — The Pickens County Coroner has identified two people who died in what officials believe is a murder-suicide.

"According to the coroner 49-year-old Jeffrey Scott Carroll and 42-year-old Kelly Denise Metcalf were found shot to death inside the home on 107 Red Oak Court in Easley. Pickens County Deputies responded to the home around 6pm Monday.

"Metcalf's daughter told deputies she went to the home to check on her mother, because no one had been able to get in touch with her. She says she found Metcalf and Jeffrey Carroll laying on the bed, covered in blood and unresponsive. Metcalf's daughter told investigators the couple were at an Easter party the day before. According to the incident report, the couple had recently broken up, but reconciled about a week ago.

"The Pickens County Sheriff's office is investigating.

"Autopsies are scheduled for Tuesday morning."
