It Was Too Late

"MEMPHIS, TN — Memphis police say two people are dead in an apparent murder-suicide in the parking lot of ServiceMaster's offices.

"Police spokeswoman Karen said that a man shot a woman, then shot himself, shortly before 7 a.m. Monday outside the business in east Memphis.

"The victim’s son, who appeared to be in his 20s, said his father called him and said he was going to go shoot his wife. The son called police and drove frantically to the office where his mother worked trying to stop his father from shooting her.

"By the time he got there, it was too late. The young man’s mother had already died in the parking lot behind the business. She had been shot numerous times.

"His father had also died from an apparent self inflicted gunshot wound.

"Leaving a son who had a mom and a dad just hours before trying to figure out what happened.

"Identities have not been released. "
