Two Dead In "Locked Down" Home

"Magnolia, TX - A man and woman in their 50's were found shot to death in their West Montgomery County home the 28000 Block of Elm Trace Dr. about 10:45 Wednesday morning after the woman failed to arrive for work and coworkers became concerned.

"The deceased were identified as Fredrick Threet, 53, and his wife, 49-year-old Suzette Threet.

"Lt. Bill Bucks said the deaths appeared to be a murder-suicide.

"`(Co-workers) contacted her family and the family went to the Magnolia home where they found all the vehicles and the doors all locked,` Bucks said. `They couldn't see anything from their vantage point, so they backed off and called police.`

"Deputies and MCHD medics responded. The manufactured home on just over five wooded acres was locked down tight. They looked through the windows and saw Suzette Threet on the couch with a gunshot wound to her torso, Bucks said.

"Magnolia Firefighters were called to make forcibly entry. Inside deputies found Fredrick Threet, also dead, sitting in a chair in the same room with a gunshot wound to his head. A handgun was lying on the floor at his feet, Bucks said.

"While there were no signs of a struggle, he said, more than the two fatal rounds were spent.

"`It appears multiple shots were fired inside the residence,` Bucks said."
