Two Put To Sleep At Veternary Clinic

"MAYS LANDING, NJ - Authorities say two people are dead of gunshot wounds in an apparent murder-suicide inside an Atlantic County veterinary clinic.

"County Prosecutor Ted Housel says the shooting happened at about 10 a.m. Thursday at All Paws Veterinary Clinic in the Mays Landing section of Hamilton Township.

"Housel says it appears that 51-year-old Ronald Clemente shot his 50-year-old wife, Patrice, with a semiautomatic handgun before turning the weapon on himself.

"Patrice Clemente was working alone at the front desk when she was shot. Other employees and customers inside the clinic were not injured.

"Clinic employees say Ronald Clemente had threatened to kill his wife, but she hadn't told police or sought a restraining order.

"Housel says Patrice Clemente was the mother of four children, but Ronald Clemente was not their father."
