Killer Confesses Via Text Message
"ROWLETT, TX — On Sunday, June 20, 2010, at approximately 5:04 p.m., the Rowlett Police Emergency Communications center received a phone call from Dustin Loveland, who stated that he had received a text message from his father, Richard Loveland, telling him that his father had killed his mother, Rowlett Juvenile Judge Belinda Loveland.
"Officers responded to the scene in the 3200 block of Sunrise and attempted to make contact with the residents inside. After numerous attempts and receiving no answer, police entered the residence which was searched with the assistance of a robot provided by the Garland Police Department. Inside the residence, police discovered the bodies of 52-year-old Belinda Loveland and her husband, 59-year-old Richard Loveland. It appears that Richard Loveland shot his wife and then turned the gun on himself.
"Belinda Loveland was an attorney and served as the juvenile court judge for the City of Rowlett.
"The case is still under investigation and more information will be forthcoming as it becomes available."
