Parental Pressure Cited In Teens' Murder/Suicide

"BOSSIER CITY, LA - Bossier Parish authorities believe parental pressure over a relationship may have led to a teen couple's murder-suicide.

"The bodies of the couple, a 16-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl, were discovered, in a pickup truck near the end of West Viking Drive just north of Bossier City about 5:30 p.m. today.

"The road, which parallels Benton Road, runs behind a business with piles of dirt and is secluded.

"In the past day or so, family members had filed missing persons reports about the teens.

"Both teens died of gunshot wounds. A deputy responding to the call recovered a gun from the truck.

"Bossier Parish detectives are investigating but don't suspect foul play from an outside source, said Ed Baswell, Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office spokesman."
