Manhunt Ends In Killer's Suicide

"LAFAYETTE, LA - A 46-year-old Lafayette man killed his 72-year-old father early this morning and then traveled to Webster Parish where he turned the gun on himself, authorities said.

"Authorities found Timothy Rogers dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the temple at about 9:30 a.m. today, said Jenny Reynolds, public information officer for the Webster Parish Sheriff’s Department.

"Earlier, authorities in Lafayette found Timothy Rogers’ father, Tommy Rogers, dead from a single gunshot wound at his home in the 200 block of Sunflower Street.

"Lt. Craig Stansbury, spokesman for the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office, said Timothy Rogers was living with his father on house arrest with an ankle bracelet.

"After shooting his father, Timothy Rogers cut the bracelet off and fled the city, Stansbury said.

"Reynolds said Timothy Rogers drove to Webster Parish intent on harming his ex-wife, a resident of the small village of Doyline.

"Roger’s ex-wife had contacted authorities after Timothy Rogers had called her, threatening to harm both her and his father, Reynolds said.

"Reynolds said the Sheriff’s Office brought his ex-wife and her family members into protective custody before Rogers arrived."

  1. As it is, none of this story is true. I would know, because I am Tim's son. I do wish for my familys sake that these websites would get the story straight.
