Bodies Found After Home Entered By Force
"McBRIDE, OK - A woman in her eighties and her adult son were found dead in her Marshall County home Tuesday morning in what the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is calling an apparent murder/suicide.
"According to Marshall County Sheriff's deputies, law enforcement was called out on a welfare check in the 2000 block of Mark Street in McBride, a town of about 200 in southeast Marshall County.
"Deputies entered the home by force, where they discovered the two bodies.
"The OSBI and the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner were called in. The OSBI said late Tuesday they believe the mother was shot to death in her bedroom Monday evening, and the son then turned the gun on himself.
"Neighbors say the mother was one of the original members of the McBride community and describe her as `a great person.`
"Neighbors say the son, believed to be in his fifties, had been in trouble with the law in Texas and was currently on parole."
