Death In A Large, Off-White Dwelling

"BRIDGEPORT, CT - Police this evening are investigating the fatal shooting of a North End woman and child -- a possible murder-suicide involving a mother and daughter.

"Police Capt. Lynn Kerwin would only confirm that a female adult and female child were found dead this afternoon in a Burnsford Avenue home, and that the deaths are under investigation.

"However, police sources said the shooting is being investigated as a possible murder-suicide, and that those dead may be a mother and daughter.

"The names and ages of the victims were not immediately available.

"Police said shortly after 3:30 p.m. they were called to 197 Burnsford Ave. to investigate a report of shots fired.

"The house where the bodies were found is a large, off-white dwelling set on a rise above the street. In the fenced front yard is a swing set and a small above-ground swimming pool.

"Access to the house and a section of Burnsford Avenue is blocked off by yellow tape."
