Bomb Scare Delays Murder/Suicide Investigation

"BENICIA, CA - A 48-year-old man fatally shot his girlfriend in the Benicia home they shared, then turned the gun on himself in an apparent murder-suicide, police said Tuesday.

"Police officers found the bodies of Walter Little and 49-year-old Julie Strack at 9:25 a.m. Tuesday in a home on Vista Grande Avenue, after responding to a call from a concerned relative of one of the victims, police Lt. Mike Daley said. A gun was also recovered.

"The relative had not heard from the couple for two days, Daley said.

"Daley said the investigation was delayed after police received an anonymous tip indicating that the home might contain explosives. However, no explosives were found."
